Notes on SG 342 LITERATURE
Rankin, Susan; Ways of telling stories, in Boone, Grame (ed) Essays on Medieval Music in honor of David Hughes, Cambridge Ma1995. p. 371-394
Prassl, Franz-Karl, Codex St Gallen 342 – das älteste vollständige Graduale aus St. Gallen in Beiträge zur Gregorianik 50, p 49-80. Regensburg 2010 (part 1)
Part 2 in BzG 55, p. 75-100. Regensburg 2013
Rankin wrote a wonderful article about what she thinks is the oldest gradual from the Scriptorium of Saint Gall. Detailed information about different neumscribes and the possible dating of the mss (close to SG 359?)
Prassl describes the neum-notation of the different scribes A B C D and E and compares them with other SG mss such as SG 359, SG 339 and E 121.
Comparisons of SG scripts (including SG 342) also in:
Betteray, Dirk van, Quomodo cantabimus canticum Domini in terra aliena, Olms Hildesheim 2007
